February 18th 2011, my beautiful twelve year old son Coleton Wayne Reid Nelson was killed in a horrific car accident on his way to a hockey practice. From that day forward our lives have changed forever.
Five years later, ironically, the same day as Coleton, my daughter Chrystie and her husband Jake McClurg lost their 19 month old baby boy Ryker Douglas McClurg due to complications from the Dtap vaccine.
Both these boys were so full of love and life. In order to keep their memories alive we decided to start giving back at Christmas. Except for 2020 for obvious reasons, we usually have a fundraiser in the summer around the boys birthdays to raise funds for less fortunate families at Christmas. We have helped over 100 families in the last 9 years.
